We got registered...and didn't even know it!

We received quite a surprising call from our agency coordinator this week...apparently, we did in fact get registered in the month of December! With Christmas and New Year's, and her vacation time away from the office, we didn't find out about it until this week. What a wonderful and unexpected gift to help us ring in the new year.

We have been registered in the region of Nizhny Novgorod. (You can Wikipedia it for more information if you're curious.) "Nizhny" (for short) is the name of both the region and the capital city of the region, which has about 1.3 million people. It's located about 250 miles east, and slightly north, of Moscow. There are multiple orphanages in this region that our son could be living in.

We are now waiting to be matched with a referral of a specific child. It's hard to believe we're already at this point in the process! We would appreciate your prayers that God would match us with just the right child for our family, and that we would have wisdom as we make many decisions in the coming weeks to bring him home.
